Green Urban Space

Information about the project
The Green Urban Space project will be an 8-day youth exchange that will take place in Maribor, Slovenia between 21th – 28th May 2018. The project will include 5 partners from Europe: Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Lithuania. In the context of activities in which young people will participate, they will have the opportunity to undermine the walls between cultures, promote youth involvement, tolerance and the local community. We will include 28 participants in to the activity.
First part of the youth exchange will be about youngsters doing research in the local community and national about the local ecology strategy / green strategy. Then they will have the opportunity to present the research to the whole group of the participants. Here will follow debate about the new information and finding common points. They will as well present good practices from local environment and try to find the best solution on their opinion to apply it to all communities. Reflection, debate, informal conversations will be preparation for the second part of the exchange, focused on how to provoke debate and get people to respond in the society.
Second part of the youth exchange is to empower youngsters. We decided to use a method of green strategies from local environment. With this technique of workshops, we give a chance for youngsters to make change in the society, it can be a reflection of reality and exercise in real life. Result of the workshop will be space intervention in Maribor- Green Urban Space – exhibition of their work. Participant will do workshops to get the work about environment situation around, they will implement the green intervention in public space to attract public to talk about environment, green strategies, tolerance, volunteering and benefits of participation to society through green strategies.

Quality Objectives:
  • To raise awareness about today's environment situation in country around Europe,
  • To promote intercultural learning and solidarity between people of different backgrounds,
  • To “reconnect” young people with nature and healthy life style,
  • To foster creative thinking and expression through green strategies and new alternative methods,
  • To foster the value of intercultural dialogue as a mean of promoting cooperation and collective spirit,
  • To promote the idea of European citizenship,
  • To promote the programme “Erasmus plus” as a useful tool for future projects.

Quantitative objectives:
  • upgrade of 8 key competences and evaluation through Youthpass of at least 28 participants,
  • getting to know at least 5 EU languages,
  • at least 5 new international partnerships,
  • at least 15 youths with fewer opportunities included in to the project directly,
  • at least 1 international blogs,
  • at least 1 exhibition of activity.
